Reflection
(Lara Jai)
~There is so much more to each of us than meets they eye. Our journeys and experiences, both inner and out in the world, are constantly expanding that which we think ourselves to be.~
The reflection, the reflection
Is bigger than the mirror can hold
What you see of me, what I see of you
A little piece of a story untold
‘Twas to this place so long ago you traveled
Your destiny just beginning to unravel
Clues lurked about like shadows on the moon
Mysteries awaited before you strewn
Then came the day you rode to distant lands
For nay an age, your life held in the Good Lord’s hands
And tongues did wagger, telling tales tall
Like a house of cards, ready to fall
Oh…but your stories cut so deep
They are no more, the nights you can find sleep
The man that you’ve come to be
Words can’t express, and eyes can not see…
Chorus
I’ve lived here forever, aye, I know these hills so well
Yet what lies just beyond, I’ve not a way to tell…
But in my mind I’ve been so far…
I’ve plucked wild flowers on a distant moor
I’ve felt the waves crash over me
As I rode upon a stormy sea
I’ve ventured to great castles in foreign lands
I’ve played fine music with my very own hands…
Oh….and my longing cut so deep
This little village, nay, it could not hold me
My thoughts have rambled so far and wide
No one could see, for ‘tis all on the inside
Chorus
But in my mind I’ve been so far…
I’ve plucked wild flowers on a distant moor
I’ve ventured to great castles in foreign lands
I’ve played fine music with my very own hands…
